Editorial Guidelines

Writing Requirements
  • Articles should be at least 1,500 words, not including your article’s title and author bio.
  • Submitted articles should be original and not previously published or curated elsewhere.
  • Articles must be written in US English and free from any grammatical errors. 
  • The tone of the article should be conversational and professional.
  • Make sure that you write the article as though you’re speaking to one person, not a group of people.
  • Title, headings, and subheadings should be written following the AP Writing Style.
  • You can only include up to 2 Do-Follow links to your website, your author bio, and social media handles
  • Support the points that you include in your article with real-life brand examples from US-based companies (preferably minority-owned companies)
  • Use resources that are no older than 2018 and from sites that are at least DA40.
  • Each point you include in the article must include actionable takeaways and strategies.
  • Format your article so that it’s skimmable by using short paragraphs and bullet points.
  • Include a conclusion that summarizes the points you shared in the article.
  • All articles must be submitted as a Google Doc.
Image Requirements
  • Support the article’s points with relevant images like graphs, charts, screenshots, original data illustrations, and infographics.
  • Avoid using generic or stock images.
  • Always make sure that you include the proper attribution underneath each image you have in your article.

If we like your article pitch, we’ll send you an email within 14 business days along with details on how to submit your completed article draft.

Proofreading and Editing

Once we receive your article draft, our editorial team will review it to ensure that it meets our editorial guidelines. We may ask you to make edits and revisions on the article draft that you’ll need to make on your end.

After we receive the updated article draft with the edits you’ve made, our editorial team will review this and make the final proofreading and corrections before scheduling this for publication. We’ll let you know about the date via email.

Please note that our editorial team reserves the right to modify, rewrite, and change sections of your article based on our discretion so that it adheres to our editorial guidelines.
